National Retail Chain

The Challenge

Ballooning maintenance costs coupled with rising utility costs and a lack of a climate control policy resulted in stores that were either too cold or too warm. Additionally, lighting schedule adjustments had to be performed manually taking up employee time and allowing for scheduling errors.

The WorldSTAT Solution

Computrols developed a WorldSTAT installation package that could be shipped directly to contractors thereby providing additional savings on installation costs. This was critical when accounting for installations in over 300 locations nationwide. A graphic workstation at the client’s corporate office was connected to their existing network infrastructure resulting in even more savings. Custom lighting panels were installed and tied into the WorldSTAT system allowing for global control over all setpoints, HVAC schedules, and lighting schedules.

The Outcome

The application of WorldSTAT has had a marked impact. The client is experiencing energy savings of up to 20% in many locations. The main office is able to receive alarm notifications of any conditions that fall outside of normal parameters - often before negative effects were felt at a store. HVAC equipment can now be diagnosed remotely, thereby reducing the number of service calls and gaining the ability to verify unit performance after a service call.
