Supermarket Chain

The Challenge

A network of 32 grocery stores located in the Southwest United States are spending over $5,000 per location--per month--in climate control. That adds up to over $160,000 per month for the entire chain. $2 million has gone to air-conditioning their stores every year--with an additional $250,000 for maintaining the HVAC equipment. WorldSTAT was charged with drastically reducing these excessive energy costs across the board.

The WorldSTAT Solution

WorldSTAT's ability to execute an energy policy across multiple locations provides the best solution available to meet these needs. Two WorldSTAT units are installed in each store to control and monitor the A/C equipment. WorldSTAT reports data to Computrols' remote monitoring station via an Internet connection. The Computrols team of trained WorldSTAT professionals help to reduce energy usage and cut mechanical repair and maintenance costs. Through 24/7 monitoring of each store's climate control hardware, inefficiencies are diagnosed.

The Outcome

Increasing overall efficiency shows the ability to save nearly $500,000 a year in energy and maintenance costs. And with that tremendous level of cost savings, the return on the initial investment for the WorldSTAT system comes in just six months from startup.
